I am a second-year doctoral student in the Health Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of California, Merced. With my doctoral studies, I aim to better understand the role of motivation as a determinant of health behaviors, particularly physical activity participation. I hope with my research to help professionals design and deliver PE classes, sport and exercise sessions that enhance youth physical activity experience and promote youth's long-term participation in physical activity.

I received my master’s degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Texas Tech University. As a graduate student at TTU I conducted a quantitative study and a meta-analysis project, and had the opportunity to serve as a graduate teaching assistant to the Kinesiology Department.
